Since I mentioned it in my post a few days ago, here’s how to make an egg burger. The one in the picture is more like an egg muffin since the fried egg was tucked into an English muffin. Make it as you please!
(Makes 1 serving)
Butter, margarine or oil
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 slice processed cheese
1 hamburger bun or English muffin
In a small frying pan, melt butter or heat oil over medium heat. Break egg into skillet. With flipper, break yolk and mix slightly with white. Season with salt and pepper. (If you think the egg will be larger than the bun, you can fold over some of the white onto itself to make the egg a little smaller. Or, cook the egg in an egg ring that fits the size of the bun.)
When egg is set, flip over. Place cheese slice on top. Cook briefly just until bottom of egg is cooked and cheese has warmed and melted slightly. (Or, place cheese slice in bottom of bun.) Place egg on bottom of bun. Top with remaining half of bun.
* Serve with condiments of your choice: ketchup, mustard, salsa or hot sauce.
* Garnish egg burger with tomato, lettuce and/or bacon slices.
